Planning Cleanup for a Home Renovation
Build disposal into the project schedule.
Map the debris phases
Demolition usually creates a different load from installation and final cleanup. List cabinets, flooring, drywall, tile, and packaging separately so the rental team can understand both volume and weight.
Create a safe loading routine
Keep routes from the work zone clear and avoid leaving sharp debris in walkways. Use appropriate protective equipment and follow your contractor’s safety procedures. Heavy or awkward materials may need more than one person.
Coordinate pickup with completion
Allow time for the last sweep and any punch-list work before collection. Confirm an exchange if the project will produce more than one load. Keep all debris below the fill line and leave access open for pickup.
General planning guidance. Confirm current material rules, local requirements, and your agreed rental terms before beginning work.
