How to Choose a Dumpster Size
Match the container to the material, not just the pile.
Start with a project inventory
List the rooms or work areas involved and identify your largest items. Furniture and packaging take up space, while tile and concrete add weight quickly. Photos and a rough inventory help the rental team recommend an appropriate option.
Volume and weight are different limits
A cubic yard measures volume, not how much a load weighs. A container can be under its fill line and still exceed the permitted weight. Ask about the allowance for your exact materials and confirm currently available sizes.
Leave room for loading and delivery
Check dimensions, truck clearance, and the swing of any loading door. If your project may expand, ask whether a larger option or a planned exchange would be more practical. Do not select a size based only on an online photo.
General planning guidance. Confirm current material rules, local requirements, and your agreed rental terms before beginning work.
